Who am I?
Some people are born with a vision. Some people are driven to be artists or mathematicians. Me? My driving force is creating connections and helping individuals to find their purpose.
I write to uplift. I research to build connections. I see and do strategy in my sleep or when I am running; but when I do the dishes, I do the dishes.
Technically, all humans are connectors with the little neurons in our brain firing and building microscopic connections from before we ever leave the womb until the day we die.
A Blog with a Purpose
Alibcandid is a blog with a purpose: I love to think and solve problems, and my hope is through sharing my thoughts that I can contribute to uplifting my generation of Xennial women. Here I will write about my own personal experiences, but also what I see as the challenges, the successes, and the goals of our unique little generation!
This blog is a place to manifest our abundance and to recognize our vulnerability. To identify our connections and to nurture our community. If you want to write a guest post, hit me up with your ideas!
What’s in a name? “Ali” because my I like diminutives. You can call me “Ali” if you wish. “Candid,” because I am from the Colorado west and I don’t like to beat around the bush. Just say it. Of course, I don’t believe in being rude; however, I do believe in being authentic. And please, if I have food in my teeth, tell me. Be candid!
Originally from Boulder, Colorado in the western United States, I spent 5 years (2013 to 2018) between Pays Basque and Sud Landes along the Atlantic coast in France. Since 2018 I’ve been based in Madagascar.
I like to move it move it…
I am a mother, a wife, and a friend. I am a coach. I regularly drink too much coffee.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, running, cycling, reading, watching music videos on YouTube, learning new things, and of course, a glass of French wine. Professionally I am a personalized virtual business strategist focusing on practical content and clear communication.
As a career coach, I work with women exploring a life that supports purpose-driven work aligned with their values, using their strengths, fulfilling their needs, and respecting their choices as a woman.
I do this not only because being a coach is in my blood, but also because I am committed to living in a world that supports women and their families in building a better future that allows both individuals and our planet to flourish.
My work requires that I make time for reflection, listening deeply, and asking powerful questions. Depending on the situation I may partner with my clients as a coach, a teacher or a mentor; guiding each woman in communicating her vision through her professional narrative, setting SMART+ goals, making a plan and of course taking action.
Each time I see a woman living out her passions and succeeding according to her values and choices, my heart grows one size larger, and I am motivated to continue down this path of reinventing the future of work for all.
